general

If a panel is red, I don’t have enough letters to solve it

Panels turn blue when hovered if i can interact with them. It’s not infinite range but i can stand a good distance away

Sometimes unsolving a panel matters, can do that by focusing the panel and pressing backspace

Some panels have a dot under them. I don’t know what this means

There is a “letter recovery” station in The Entry. This will pick up any letters left in the aqua colored square things which eat your letters and return them to you

For some reason pressing the equal-sign key types an H and at this point Idk if it’s intentional This is a controller support feature

If you head to the graphics settings and change the STYLE you can pick one which textures the walls, either for colorblindness or just for looks. This is nice when the plain walls get a bit boring or hard to read. The MELLOW PACK in particular makes The Darkroom so much easier to read

Sometimes the blanks are on the top and the prefilled word is on the bottom. The symbols still work top-to-bottom.

Red letters steal your letters ! you’d have to go find them again. (This might have been a one-off meme actually)

Possibly: Teal doors can be walked through backwards.

symbols

Sun

Synonym.

Bracketed, it means antonym.

Vertical bar thing

Homophone.

With a squiggle: a rhyme.

Star bubbles thing

Insert a letter (could be any letter, but it still makes a word; the new letter can appear anywhere in the word, you can’t anagram the existing letters).

Bracketed, it means delete a letter.

“Statue”

Six pointed star with smaller six-pointed stars in the lower corners.

I think, “follows from”? for example COWBOY (this symbol) HAT. Bracketed statue probably means “leads into”. In the crossword-cluing sense. “Belongs to the category of”. I think X (statue) -> Y means X belongs to the category of Ys, and unstatue means that Y is an example of X.

The commonly used statue-unstatue pair means “another thing in the same category as”.

Dot under a symbol

Do it again

Scribble above a symbol

A “variant” of a symbol

Star-bubble-squiggle replacements. Each one of these only requires one usage of the symbol, even stuff like L -> R which requires doing a lot of art. You can do these transformations in reverse with the bracketed symbol (like erasing a bit). This is not exhaustive

Planet

Make it plural. Bracket-planet, make it less plural. Taught in The Darkroom.

Blocks

The thing on the top is a component of the thing on the bottom. Taught in The Extravagant.

Bracketed blocks reverses which is the part and which is the whole, now the whole is on the top

“The snake” (it looks nothing like a snake)

You can do the thing on the bottom using the thing on the top. Taught in TEACH/LEARN in The Great.

As usual unsnake reverses the order.

Ziggurat

An “intensifier”, applying the ziggurat makes it more intense, applying the unziggurat makes it more subdued.

“empty set” symbol found outside the tree

No idea. Taught for-real in The Butterfly (now accessible from The Gallery)?

Ellipse with five vertical bars that looks kinda messy

Change gender?

Taught for-real in The Lively.

Hollow X

Hmm.

Target

Cause and effect, “leads to”.

Seems to be taught for-real in The Lionized (accessible from The Between -> painting -> door)

Whe modified with the squiggle, who knows:

Bracket all by itself

Reverse the word. There’s an instance of this in The Between.

Smiley face

Grab something from the environment, usually an adjacent panel or the concatenation of adjacent panels.

Bracketed smiley face? Uhh…

I think the exception is the first panel this face is introduced in, in The Great, where it just means BRO. It’s next to Brown, Red, and Orange colored blocks. Lol.

Doors

It’s on the back of the text at the start of the game.

Something to do with “replacing a letter with a duplicate”? No, that’s not right

Dot

Repeat?

There’s this one in The Repetitive HOTS (dot) -> 8 which I’m guessing is HOTSHOTS. Don’t have enough double-letters to enter it, though.

Shooting stars

Maybe taught in The Plaza (accessible through The Between). No idea.

Who knows man

Verticalbar could mean some kind of “append”? like HAND -> ARM makes sense with blocks on its own, but the H is preserved

Deep in The Unyielding, some kind of seatbelt/bandaid symbol??? Who knows???

A hole-in-wall symbol in Daedalus?

etc

The smiley face’s name is BRO

“Panels turn red when you don’t have the letters for them” + “those squares that steal your letters” = a hint system

Control Center looks like some sort of fast-travel thing? It only connects to The Partial for now but i imagine more areas will connect to it

The Great, garden-area on the left side:

And the garden on the right side:

The back garden, with muted colors:

This is totally cheating, but if you’re using a texture pack you can sometimes figure out when you teleport based on when the textures rotate

The bottom copy of THINK THINK THINK above the The Orb room has turned green. Okay? It is no longer green It is veeeerry slightly green in the default pack lol, but it’s pretty vivid in other packs

The Digital second maze

The Digital: The second maze. There’s some C-shaped purple lines on the top of the cage room, and a similar “DO YOU SEA” painting thing in The Great first-area, but i’m not sure what they mean (following a C shaped path just leads to more maze?)

I found a path in The Hinterlands. Not sure where I was supposed to learn that path from. It leads to The Gallery

I finally went to the left of the area near The Impressive, which had opened some time after I last looked, and found a PAINTING -> ART which revealed the painting. So I might have done a little progression skip

New area on the “Return To…” menu. Contains The Extravagant (where you get E and are taught about Blocks), The Parthenon, and The Owl by default(?) but many areas add themselves as paintings here when you find them. Also has a letter eater thing.

(After finding C in The Digital I filled in TRICK/INK in The Entry and it told me LEAST BLUE LAST. I have no idea what that means. It’s now gone and replaced with a painting of The Owl.)

The Tree

Starting from the main entry door and going clockwise, the doors along the tree roots are

Starting from the painting teleport, if you walk backwards you’ll be between the two entrances to the ocean-and-sun painting.

The Unkempt

The weird hints are an anagram of all the answers?

LET UNTRUE TIE -> i found TILE through guessing, so what’s left is TUNTRUEE -> found TRUE -> TUNE

The Congruent

New area accessible from second room of The Darkroom, seems to be a spoof of The Partial

Has a clue: 1 in cyan, 2 in pink, 3 in yellow. Spells L, C, G.

Got infinite-C by putting C in the letter-remover, which made it disappear.

“Control” key

Displays as [REDACTED] in the hint menu.

The Graveyard

Accessible through falling out-of-bounds. First place I did this was The Sun Temple, also back side of The Great. Solvinng all countdown widgets in The Great gives you the black ending.

The area loops but if you walk in a diagonal direction you can see a tree. Not sure if that means anything.

There’s a panel i need infinite R to type on, too.

The Between

Accessible from the first part of The Great. Groups of short puzzles that form a word when put together, where the concatenation is represented with the smiley-face. I need more infinite-letters to solve some of these.

The Quiet

Where the Q is. Accessible behind one of the HIDDEN/SECRET panels in Daedalus, near the orange pipe.

The Three Doors

FIRS/INITIAL, left and right doors loop, middle door to MINUTE/MINUTE, portal back to the great, left hall to LOOSE/STRINGS, right hall to GOLD/PORT

MINUTE/MINUTE, all doors and portal to FIRS/INITIAL, left hall to blank/blank (THIRD/FOURTH),

blank/blank, portal and left and right doors to firs/initial, middle door to minute/minute, left hall to gold/port

GOLD/PORT, portal to LONE/CHANCE, all doors to FIRS/INITIAL, right hall to blank/blank

LOOSE/STRINGS (lose/threads), portal/left door/right door to FIRS/INITIAL, middle door to MINUTE/MINUTE. hmph.

LONE/CHANCE, left hall to grave marker and MINUTE/MINUTE (somehow), right hall to DOOR/WAYS, left door to DEAD/END

And now the grave marker hit 0 so i’m done here i think

The Bearer

Entrance from The Unyielding (through a green pipe?) OVER LOOK might be handy once i get infinite O. Looks like infinite Q is unlocked here.

There’s a different entrance from The Tree through the BROWN door. Contains the actual infinite Q itself, a painting to The Butterfly (flanked by a red panel?) and an entrance to a tiny corner of Daedalus with red/yellow/white(?)cream(?)/blue(?)darkblue(?)royalblue(?) patches on the ceiling that idk what to do with

The Words

Well i followed the directions literally and wrote THEWORDS into the first panel, and now I’m here. Got the blue ending.

The Sturdy

Moving panels puzzle. Accepted words area UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT/BACK. Solution: red BACK, cyan UP, orange BACK, blue DOWN, pink LEFT, green LEFT, purple LEFT, yellow UP.

There’s now a COLORS (blocks) -> RAINBOW panel in the middle of the room. It reveals a painting which takes you to Daedalus (it’s a bit janky, jump towards the left side)

The Unyielding

Now that the area has opened up from solving 2x2s and 3x3s time to start mapping things…

Things-on-pedestals i found:

The smiley face has a blue eye on the left, and a red eye on the right (looking away from the entrance from The Digital)

Left to right starting in the smiley face room:

The big room, left to right

Continuing left, left-hand-rule style

Right-hand-ruling from the big room takes you to the bee painting as well

Through the brown tunnel there is an “east/west room” containing a small 2x2 as well. Going left-to-right behind WEST does nothing, going right-to-left takes you to the big room near the bee painting.

Going right-to-left behind EAST takes you to the NORTH/SOUTH room, which has E on a blue pedestal. going behind SOUTH dumps you in the EAST/WEST room again (by way of teleporting you to the hallway behind the bee painting, actually, you can see two teleports with a texture pack)

Going left-to-right behind NORTH takes you to the EAST/WEST room, and going right-to-left does nothing (but using two teleports lol; if you stop in-between you’re just behind EAST again)

The “yellow block”:

current leads

Daedalus: Yeah.

The Tower: Yeah.

Daedalus, ranbow painting in the gallery: One puzzle I can’t figure out yet (RAT(bubbles) (bubbles) -> R????). Honestly I’ve thrown wordlists at it and nothing is working (e.x. https://www.visca.com/regexdict/ reports 13 results for ^r(at..|a.t.|a..t|.at.|.a.t|..at)$ and none of them work)

The Entry: Lots of red panels over in that area on the right, even now.

The Unyielding: CYAN 3x3 needs some infinite letters to solve (maybe T). Also figure out what the pedestals are all about

The Unkempt: Panels which need infinite-D to solve.

The Jubilant/The Quiet: Every single panel has a dot under it. Lmfao.

The Congruent: new panel that probably needs infinite-I.

The Repetitive: Grey panels around the infinite-H that i still don’t know what to do with. Some red panels near the I (and need infinite-O, infinite-T for HOTSHOTS)

The Double Sided: Literally just a fucking maze? I am missing some necessary letters. Someone made a map https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3449604439 . It seems like this area mostly just has an optional collectible (there’s optional collectibles…?) so it’s not too bad to miss out on I guess

The Great: Any leads on entering the big beehive block? I want to go in there…

Anywhere: Just found out you can walk backwards through all the one-way teal doors.

According to The Hinterlands, the infinite-letters I can unlock next are R, T, and I. Just got O and C.

List of COLOR panels i’ve found and remembered to write down. Might need to scour the game again for color panels that I forgot to list here. (Entering the corresponding color into the Control Center will open the door.)

I guess I should start marking down dotted panels, huh?

The Owl

for the purposes of mapping i’ll just assume “north” in each room is “whichever way the orange pixels face”, which can be different room to room. Also, I didn’t meticulously finish this map after finding the pixel droppers lol

(n.b: yeah this means i put down “NORTH” as the direction you stand to make the owl appear upside-down. Oh well)

room 1

room 2

room 3

room 4

Cyan doors canbe walked backwards through!! and take you to Four Rooms

Dropping the blue pixels will allow me to cross this room

room 5

room 6

room 7

room 8

Adventurer’s log (didn’t start this at the start of the game)

Got the letter Y from playing with the QUESTION area

Figured out what the “statue” symbol actually means, seems to be “belongs to the category of”

Found M in The Impressive. Wow that’s kinda dumb, lol.

The Great: filling in SAVORY -> UNSAVORY and FLAVORS -> FAVORS opened another painting to The Extravagant

Reached a “(bracket) THE END” screen. Lol.

Solved this puzzle:

Found in Control Center: LESS/REVERSED DOUBLE YOU/ORB’S ORANGE/PEA’S PREREQUISITE/INSIDE THE PAINTING

  • REVERSED DOUBLE YOU - pretty clearly M, right
  • ORB’S ORANGE - the left chamber of The Orb with a big O in it
  • PEA’S PREREQUISITE - referring to the letter P, the letter before it is R
  • INSIDE THE PAINTING - could refer to the painting in The Partial which plops you right in front of the R
  • Regardless i can’t take action on this because I don’t have the M, and don’t know where it is oh i have the M now

On a whim I entered MORE and it worked. Not sure what INSIDE THE PAINTING refers to then

Found The Repetitive. Found another copy of H. Neat. Got my copy of I stolen from me. Less neat. But then found I can just return to the original location of I and pick it up again. Yay.

Solved The Owl and got the Z

Solved Four Rooms SUSPICION (sun) -> H???? using a lot of bruteforcing with letter-removers and got the duplicate A.

ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
xxOxxxxOxxxxxOxxxxxxOxxxxx

HUNCH. Yeah that makes sense, didn’t think it was possible without the duplicate H.

Found J in The Jubilant. Thank you google search for “synonyms pull”.

Solved The Tree using some more letter-bruteforcing (and a hint from Ath). As far as I can tell, nothing changed.

Got X - I had to look that up, sorry (not used to the dot mechanic yet)

Found the Sun Temple and I think I understand the gimmick, but don’t have enough letters to enter MOON.

Solved TEACH/LEARN after finding X and doing more panel-bruteforcing on a puzzle I was stuck on:

HEAL (unsnake) -> N????

ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
xxxxOxxxxxxxxOxxx OxOxxxxx

contains N, E, U, S, R -> NURSE

Got into the back of The Great.

Got into The Between, found The Lively, got infinite-L.

Found and solved The Lionized, got infinite-E. Seems powerful…!

Found and solved The Nuanced, got infinite-N. There is still a sign saying “TORE (add 2) -> 6” that I don’t have the letters for. Solved it later.

Probably did some other stuff.

Guessed MISTREAT (un-doors) -> REAM in The Great. Not sure if it did anything lol.

Got the Q in The Quiet. This completes my entire keyboard.

Got the purple ending in the Sun Temple.

New session.

Black ending in The Graveyard. Got infinite-S. Working my way through The Unyielding. Other stuff that happened but im editing this on my phone and closed without committing :/

Stumbled into The Words and got the blue ending.

Spoiled myself on the teal ending by watching Icely play, lol. I’ll hold off on doing that ending until i find something that hints it from ingame? I also corrected my understanding of the “change a letter” symbol (actually means “draw on a letter”)

Got infinite-O (just had to unsolve some panels in Daedalus, it was a ceiling gimmick, lol)

Got infinite-C in The Congruent.

random panel in the great ((face) (doors) -> S???)

ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
xxxOO x x O x

SHED.
